DRAGON BALL SUPER 23
Synopsis Dragon Ball Super Manga 23
Vegeta and Goku watch with concern as Zamasu and Goku Black merge. Shin mentions that when two Kais use the Potara earrings on opposite ears, they fuse and become an invincible warrior. The idea of an invincible warrior terrifies Trunks.
Zamasu launches a surprise attack on Goku and Vegeta while everyone is distracted, causing both Saiyans to lose their god forms and fall to the ground in their respective base forms. The attack is so swift that no one sees it coming. Vegeta becomes furious, transforms into Super Saiyan Blue, and swiftly attacks Zamasu, but fails to land a single blow as Zamasu's fusion hurls him away.
Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and launches multiple attacks at Zamasu, but Zamasu manages to repel his strikes. When Zamasu knocks Goku down and lets his guard down, Goku seizes the opportunity to unleash a Kamehameha that pierces through Zamasu's chest. A large hole remains, but Zamasu quickly regenerates, revealing his immortality.
Using his telekinesis, Zamasu grabs Vegeta and Goku by their throats, then unleashes a massive ki explosion, leaving a gaping crater on the ground. Zamasu, exhilarated by his power, proclaims himself as the only god that should exist and begins hurling powerful ki blasts. Goku steps in between, shielding Trunks and the other spectators from an incoming blast.
Goku tells them to get as far away as possible. Shin removes his Potara earrings and gives them to Goku, mentioning that if he fuses with Vegeta to become Vegito, there's no way they can lose against Zamasu. Goku relays the message to Vegeta, but he opposes it, stating that he will never fuse with him again. Goku responds that he expected Vegeta to say that, agrees with him, and tells Shin that they will fight individually.
Vegeta declares that he will defeat Zamasu on his own and walks away. Goku follows him. They play rock-paper-scissors to decide who fights first, and Goku wins, so he transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and pursues Vegeta. Facing such a power gap, Zamasu doesn't exert much effort; instead, he hurls cubes of Kacchin, the strongest steel in the universe. Trunks expresses concern that Goku might die if the situation continues.
Gowasu mentions that Goku only needs to endure for an hour fighting Zamasu, as after that time, the fusion should dissolve because neither of the Zamasus is a Supreme Kai. Shin suggests that this might be the reason why Vegito's fusion dissolved, not due to the power of Majin Buu.
Trunks says he doesn't understand what they're talking about, but now he realizes that he just needs to buy time until the fusion dissipates, so he's willing to do his part for that. Vegeta objects, but Trunks delivers a speech about how he must do it to avenge Bulma, and Vegeta stops opposing.
Severely injured, Goku falls into a building and wonders if he should consume the last Senzu Bean he has. Vegeta asks him to hand over the Potara earring. Outside the building, Zamasu senses Vegeta's presence and decides to take advantage and kill them both. However, before he attacks, a massive explosion erupts from the building and destroys Zamasu's arm, leaving him astonished, although he quickly regenerates.
Vegito appears and explains to Zamasu that, like him, he is a fusion born from the Potara earrings. Zamasu is surprised as he didn't know mortals could also fuse using the Potara. Additionally, Vegito informs him that they only have an hour of fusion, something he didn't know because Gowasu never explained it to him.
Vegito consumes the last Senzu Bean and transforms into Super Saiyan Blue. He declares that he will completely annihilate Zamasu, leaving no chance for regeneration. At the beginning of the battle, Vegito has a clear advantage, causing the fusion of Zamasu to grow desperate. Shin mentions that Vegito's power is as great as that of Beerus.
Zamasu prepares to attack Vegito with cubes of Kacchin, and Vegito prepares to obliterate him with a Final Kamehameha. However, before he can unleash the attack, the Vegito fusion dissolves. Vegeta and Goku are caught off guard by the rain of Kacchin cubes launched by Zamasu, buried within a smoke cloud, while Trunks and the others are left astounded by how short-lived the fusion was.
